Job Description:                   Lifeguard

Responsible To:                   Centre Manager/Duty Manager

Main Duty:                             To supervise Members Swimming.

Principle Accountabilities:

·          To supervise the swimming pool, to the standard stated during the NPLQ Qualification

·          To check all lifeguard equipment on the pool surrounds and make sure they are in working order.

·          Ensure that his/her qualification(s) are in date and valid.

·          To attend Canons Swimming Pool Staff Training as and when it is organised.

·          Keep poolside free from obstructions.

·          Regular pool testing, (one every 1.5 hours of shift, as stated in NOP).

·          Ensure that immediate first aid assistance is administered as required.

·          To keep the poolside cupboard tidy and clean.

·          Cleaning straining baskets, skimmers, and pool surrounds.

·          Regularly checking the changing rooms, alongside Duty Manager(s).

·          All customer care and enquiries.

·          Compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act, Codes of Practice, adhering to COSHH regulations, and all NLCS policies.

·          To behave in a safe and professional manner at all times.

·          Such other duties that may be required from time to time.
